Resveratrol is a powerful plant compound which acts similar to an antioxidant. Resveratrol is classified as a phytoestrogen due to its function to interact with estrogen receptors in a beneficial way.
Health benefits of reveratrol
New studies explain resveratrol's effect on inflammation in the body, and also shows how it can be used to treat potentially deadly inflammatory disease, such as peritonitis, appendicitis, and systemic sepsis.
It is thought that it can limit the spread of cancer cells and start killing them. Furthermore, it has been demonstrated to reduce blood pressure in patients at risk for cardiovascular disease. Moreover, resveratrol seems to influence bad (LDL) cholesterol levels by reducing the effect of an enzyme that controls cholesterol production.
So far, studies have not established any severe adverse effects, even when this antioxidant is taken in large doses.
